In the age of social media, a secret isn’t just personal, it’s a weapon…
It’s your typical high school novel. The cheerleader, the jock, the nerd, and the criminal, all in detention for the same reason. Coincidence? Maybe, but what happens next is definitely. In the midst of their boredom, their classmate Simon, notorious for his gossip app, collapses on the floor. One hour later, he’s pronounced dead.
The police called it murder. The media called it a conspiracy. The entire grade hated him, but who would want him dead? At the end of the day, they each had a secret. A secret, worth killing for. All of them terrified Simon would post about it, letting the entire world know. What limits would they go to keep their secret…
I’d rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of the suspenseful plot. It always keeps you on the edge, guessing constantly who killed Simon. And the secrets you find out along the way are so unexpected. Everyone looked suspicious at some point in the book. When I found out who killed Simon at the end, it was totally unpredictable. This book is also a very popular choice for middle schoolers today. Be ready to be swept along a suspenseful journey as the four characters navigate the mental toll this murder had on them, their complicated family dynamics, and relationships with classmates.
